Mamata Banerjee On PM Modi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s opposition alliance ‘India’. He said on Tuesday (July 25) that he (the prime minister) thinks he likes the name ‘India’ (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance). 

Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief Mamata Banerjee said, “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I think he likes the name ‘India’. Like common people, they too have accepted it. The more they speak ill of the name, the more they prove their dislike for it. ”

What did Mamata Banerjee say?
The more the BJP talks wrong about the opposition alliance, the more it (party) will prove its preference for it, said Banerjee after a brief meeting with Governor CV Anand Bose at the Raj Bhavan, according to news agency PTI. 

What did PM Modi say?
PM Modi on Tuesday  in BJP’s parliamentary party meeting, the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India) terming it as the country’s most directionless coalition ever.

Which parties are in the alliance of opposition parties?
Recently a meeting of opposition parties was held in Bengaluru, Karnataka, hosted by the Congress. 26 parties including Congress participated in this meeting. After this Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced that we have named the alliance as  ‘India’. 

These 26 parties include Congress, TMC, Aam Aadmi Party, DMK, JDU, RJD, JMM and Left.
